Caution

  • Resistors can be individually mounted on ceramic or glass fiber substrates and connected to the conductor surface using pre-formed solder, conductive adhesive, or bonding wire. Pay attention to coordinating the coefficient of linear expansion between the substrate and the resistor to reduce stress on the solder joints.
  • When mounting resistors on a substrate, the marked side (film layer) should face upwards. When picking up chip resistors with tweezers, try to grip both electrode ends to avoid causing mechanical damage to the resistor.
  • Once chip resistors are installed, avoid removing them if possible. Removed resistors are not recommended for reuse. In case removal is necessary due to special circumstances, heat both ends of the solder simultaneously with two soldering irons (or specialized tools). Only remove the resistor when both ends of the solder have completely melted. Additional soldering is allowed during the welding process, but it should be done after the resistor has completely cooled.
    Soldering: The recommended installation method for chip resistors is reflow soldering. Specific installation methods should follow relevant assembly processes as detailed in "Electronic Product Manufacturing Technology" by Wang Weiping, published by Tsinghua University Press. When using a soldering iron to install resistors, the soldering temperature should not exceed 250°C, and the soldering time should not exceed 5 seconds. For manual soldering of chip resistors, the recommended method is as follows: first, apply adhesive in the middle of the two solder pads; then, use tweezers to stick the resistor on the adhesive and cure it according to the adhesive's instructions; finally, hold a soldering iron in one hand and solder wire in the other, soldering each end of the resistor accordingly.
